Covington—Harold A. Morgan, 88, Rileysburg, Route 2, Covington, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. He was born Aug. 15, 1900, the son of William and Nora Whyde Morgan. He was married Oct. 8, 1921 in Danville to Mildred E. Gouty, who preceded him in death Aug. 15, 1988. He had been a resident of the Rileysburg community for 52 years. He was a carman at C&EI Railroad Shops for 41 years, retiring in August 1963, due to ill health. He also farmed for several years.
He was a member of the Rileysburg Church and a 50-year member of Further Light Lodge 1130 AF&AM. Surviving are a son, B. G., Hemet, Calif.; two brothers, Glenn, Homosassa Springs, Fla., and Vernon, Perrysville; two granddaughters, Patricia Morgan Noggle, Georgetown, Ill., whom he raised, and Marilyn Morgan Amy in California; a grandson, William A. Morgan in California, and two great grandsons, Steve and Kevin Noggle, Georgetown. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with James Williamson officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. – thanks to s
