Mrs. Viola Moran, 81, of Attica Route 3, died Monday (Aug. 24, 1970) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient there since July 19. Born Aug. 31, 1888, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Eleanor Erwin Wantland. They came to Fountain County when she was young and she resided there most of her life. In 1905, she married Thomas Marr, who died in 1918. She then married Frank Moran in 1936, and he died in 1966. She attended Attica and Portland Schools. She was a practical nurse and worked at Harrison Steel Casting Co. for 10 years. She was a member of the Attica Christian Church and Royal Neighbors Lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Mildred Marr of Attica; two sons, Thomas and Jesse Marr, both of Attica; two brothers, Hugh Wantland of Hatfield, Ind., and Sy Wantland of Foley, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Brubaker of Hoopeston, Mrs. Laura Flynn of Lafayette and Mrs. Emma Hughes of Newtown; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Ruth Eskew, preceded her in death along with a sister and a brother. Services Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. The Rev. Harry C. Randolph officiated.
