Cecil Emerson Moran, 56, sectional foreman on the Nickel Plate RR, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been brought to the hospital one hour before after being stricken at his home in Clarks Hill. He had been in failing health the past three years. Mr. Moran had been a section foreman on the railroad for the last 35 years. He was a member of Clarks Hill Methodist Church. He was also a member of Royal Neighbors of America at Clarks Hill. He was a member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge 636 and Yeddo Chapter 313 OES. He was born in Sommerfield, KY. He married Viola Doke on Jan 11, 1933 at Covington. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Richard of Lafayette and John of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Violett Kauffman of Clarks Hill and Mrs. Lillian Platt of Lafayette; eight grandchildren; a brother, John C. Moran of Crawfordsville and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Thompson of Clarks Hill and Mrs. Emma Fields of East St. Louis, Ill. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clarks Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Amos McGinnis officiating. Burial in Linden Cemetery. -- kbz
