  Covington, Ind.—Oliver Moorehous, Sr., 78, of Covington Route 2 died at 12:30 a.m. today (May 18, 1974) at the Americana Nursing Home in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since April 24.
 
  He was born July 31, 1895, to William A. and Mary E. Fisher. He was married June 13, 1914, to Hazel Rardin, who died Nov. 23, 1967.
 
  He was a member of the First Christian Church at Dyer. He had been a resident of Danville for over 60 years.
 
  Survivors include two sons, The Rev. Carl, of Gary, and Oliver Jr. of Covington Route 2; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 
  He was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
 
  Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Winston Zatrow and the Rev. Jerry Kissenger officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

COVINGTON — Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for Oliver Moorhous Sr., 78, of Rt. 1, Covington, a retired carpenter who died at 12: 30 a.m. Saturday in Americana Nursing Home at Danville, Ill. He had been ill a year. Mr. Moorhous had lived near Covington the last 10 years and for more than 60 years at Danville. He was a son of William A. and Mary E. Fisher Moorhous and was born July 31, 1895, at St. Joseph, Ill. He was married June 13, 1914, to Hazel Rardin, who died Nov. 23, 1967. Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Carl Moorhous of Gary and Oliver Moorhous Jr. of Rt. 2, Covington; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mr. Moorhous was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a grandson. He was a member of the First Church of Christ at Dyer, Ind. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Officiating at the services were the Rev. Winston Lastrow and the Rev. Jerry Kissinger.   --typed by Walt W
