COVINGTON, Ind. — Harlan E. "Denny" Moore, 77, of Covington, Ind., died at 3:10 a.m. EDT Sunday, April 27, 2008, at The Waters of Covington. Harlan was born May 28, 1930, at Danville, Ill., to Leland L. and Jesse Faye (Bonnett) Moore. Denny was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1950. He attended Business College and then worked in his family's Grain Elevator business, many years. Denny was a life member of the VFW Post 2395 and American Legion of Covington and a 50-year member of Fountain Lodge 60 F & AM. He was married to DeLores Jean Doggett on June 19, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives along with three stepchildren: Michael Bohn of Danville, Ill., Jan Shareen LaFoe of Catlin, Ill., and Dr. Katheryne (Donald) Pavey-Franz of Crown Point, Ind.; nine grandchildren and nine great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation was chosen by Denny and a memorial service with Masonic and military rites will be held at 2 p.m. EDT Friday, May 2, 2008, at Shelby Funeral Home Covington. The family requests NO Flowers, preferring donations be made to the Danville Humane Society or American Cancer Society, envelopes available at the funeral home. – jlr
