Francis Adeline Alderson was born at Charleston, Ill., Aug 18 1839, and died at her home near Cates, Ind., Sept. 26, 1907, aged 68 years, 1 month and 9 days. On Sept. 17, 1867 she was united in marriage to Nathan E. Moore and to this union was born seven children. One child died in infancy. William R., Frederic C., Charles H., Horace B., G. Washington and Mary H. still live and with the husband one brother, Richard Alderson mourn their sad loss. About 52 years ago she gave her heart to God, and united with the United Brethren church near Perrysville, Ind., and remained a faithful member until she, with her family moved from that place to their present home where she united with the Christian church and has lived a faithful consistent Christian life until she was suddenly called to her home above. On the night of her death she retired to rest in her usual health, but shortly after midnight she was seized by a cough, which resulted in Spasmodic Laryngitus, causing her death. As a wife she was a true help mate, as a mother, loving and self sacrificing, and as a friend loyal and steadfast and her friendship lasted for life. The community extends sympathy and affection to the bereaved husband, brother and children and hope that this dark cloud which hovers so low on the home, may when it is lifted, show a silver lining which will make the heart lift up and look up to that home where mother has gone, and where ideals are realized, and sorrow and seperation are unknown. Funeral services were conducted at her home at 10 o’clock a.m. one mile south of Cates by Rev. Wathal. – thanks to S
