Kingman IN - J. Stephen Moffett, 83, of Kingman died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept 27, 1998 at AMI Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville. He was born Jan 14, 1915 in Fountain County, the son of Robert Emmett and Opal Ratcliff Moffett. He married Hazel Bowman Moffett 11-29-1934, at Bloomingdale. She survives. Also surviving: a daughter, a brother, Richard Moffett of Kansas City, Mo; four grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded by a son, Ronald Moffett in 1991. He was a graduate of Wallace HS and received a two-year degree in agriculture from Purdue University. He farmed south of Wallace his entire life and was a retired postal worker from the Kingman PO. He was a member and a Sunday School teacher for the adult class at Scotts Prairie Christian Church, a 60-year member of Sigma Kappa Fraternity, Wallace Masonic Lodge #495 (Past Master), Wallace Low 12 Club and the Scotish Rite of Indianapolis. Funeral services 2:30 p..m. Tuesday, Sept 29 at Shoemaker Funeral Home in Waynetown; officiating: Rev. Richard Wright: Visitation, two hours prior to the service Tuesday with Masonic services at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Wolfe Creek.
