ATTICA -- An Attica man was killed and three men injured in a two car crash Saturday at the intersection of 1100 N and U.S. 231 in nirthern Putnam County.
Robert R. Mitton, 53, died of a massive skull fracture, according to Putnam County Coroner Wayne Hopkins.
Mitton was a passenger in a car driven by Donald L. Conley, 33, also of Attica. Conley was taken to Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis along with John L. Rainey, 33, Williamsport, another passenger in the car.
Conley was listed as fair and Rainey in satisfactory condition Monday evening. Both men are in intensive care unit.

Charles R. Wilson, 58, of Rt. 1, Roachdale, driver of the second car, was listed in fairly good condition in Putman County Hospital.
According to State police, the accident occurred at 9:45 a.m. Saturday when Wilson attempted to cross U.S. 231 and was struck in the side by the car driven by Conley. State Troopers lia Maaley and Ted (... sp) of Putnamville Post investigated the accident.
Robert Russell, 53, of 409 E., (.. onroe sp) St., Attica, was born Oct. 23 1916, in Attica, the son of Walter and Hazel Perry Mitton. He was married Aug. 15, 1937, at Riverside, to Margaret Dill, who survives. He was a graduate of Veedersburg High School, and workedat harrison Steel Casting Co., in Attica. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and had served in the Army Air Corps.
Surviving with the wife are his mother, of Veedersburg; four sons, Donald, Crawfordsville; Richard, Attica; Michael, in Vietnam, and Gary, at home; two daughters, Linda Greer, Attica; Judith, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Phillips, Attica; Mrs. Evelyn Gayler, Attica; six brothers, Orville, Kingman; Everett, Los Angels, Calif.; William, Waynetown; Jim anddeburg, and Don, of Elwood. Chilldren also survive.
Friends my call at Desutter Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday. Survices will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeSutter Chapel, with Rev. Rajn ...(sp) officiating. Interment will be ............ Cemetery, Attica, with military rites.

Funeral services for Robert R. Mitton, 53, of 409 E. Monroe St., Attica, who was fatally injured Saturday in a one-car accident, were held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the DeSutter Chapel with Rev. Raymond Foraker Officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Orville Jackson, Orville Sowers, Willis Wilkerson, Bobby New, T. V. Willett, and Billy Trimble.
Impressive military graveside rites were performed by the Attica VFW Post. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery with DeSutter Home in Charge.
