William Mitchell, age 77, died at 5 pm. Sunday at his home one mile west of Newtown following a year's illness. The body was returned to the home Monday to await funeral services at 2 o'clock Tuesday in the Newtown
Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Mtichell was born April 9, 1869, in Warren County, Indiana near greenhill, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mitchell. He married Miss Rose Stove Feb 10, 1896.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mitchell; a son, Roy at home; three grandchildren, Grey Martin and Ann Mitchell of Newtown; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Byers; and one brother, James whose address is not known.
Mr. Mitchell was a farmer and in addition was assessor of RIchland township four years. --- kbz

Newtown, Sept 22 – William Mitchell, 77, died at 4:50 p.. Sunday at his home near Newtown. Born in Warren County near Green Hill, he married Rose E. Stover Feb 10, 1897 who survived with a son, Ray; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Byers of Crane Station and one brother, James Mitchell.
