Newtown, Ind. (CNS)--Roy C. Mitchell, 62, of Newtown died unexpectedly at 11 last night (March 2, 1967) at his home here. He worked yesterday and death was attributed to natural causes. Born June 5, 1904 at Crawfordsville, he was the son of William and Rose Stover Mitchell. He was married to Leona Gray Feb. 14, 1929 at Jackson Heights Methodist Church and she survives. They moved here 38 years ago from Wingate and he was employed by the Covington Implement Co. He was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, the Volunteer Fire Department, Tri-County and Indiana Firemen's Associations and Richland Masonic Lodge 205. Also surviving are a son, Gray S. of Pendleton; a daughter, Mrs. Anne McCall of Attica, and five grandchildren. The body is at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Roy C. Mitchell, age 62, of Newtown, died unexpectedly at 11 a..m. Thursday, March 2, at his home. He had worked that day at the Covington Implement Co., Covington, where he has been employed. Death was attributed to natural causes.
Mr. Mitchell was born June 5, 1904, at Crawfordsville, the son of William and Rose Stover Mitchell. He was married to Leona Gray Feb. 14, 1929 at Jackson Heights Methodist Church and she survives. They moved to Newtown from Wingate 38 years ago. He was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, the Volunteer Fire Department, Tri-County and Indiana Firemen's Associations and the Richland Masonic Lodge 205.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: two sons, Gray S. of Pendleton, and Martin of New York; one daughter, Mrs. Anne McCall of Attica, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. George Phelps of Danville officiated and burial was in the Newtown Cemetery. - jz
