MITCHELL, Leslie - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Leslie K. Mitchell, 79, died on Saturday night, June 27, 1970, at his home in Newtown after an illness of several years. He was a lifelong resident of the Newtown area. Mr. Mitchell was born on May 13, 1891, the son of Elliott and Agnes Stoudt Mitchell. He was married to Beulah Hastings on April 15, 1911. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Richland F&AM lodge, Newtown OES and the former K of P Lodge. He attended Newtown High School and grew the corn used in the National Corn Husking contest in 1935. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Daniel and William D., both of Newtown, a brother, Isaac Mitchell of Wingate; eight grandchildren and 17 great grand children. He was preceded in death by a sister and a son. Services were Tuesday with burial in Newtown cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
