Mrs. Hattie E. Mitchell, 69, was found dead in her home Sunday afternoon by her brother, David Clark who lives nearby. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mrs. Mitchell who had been ill three years was born on a farm south of Veedersburg Aug 19, 1887 the daughter of Horton and Anna Hall Clark. She married Earl Mitchell in 1919 and he preceded her in death. Surviving in addition to the brother, David is a sister, Mrs. Rosella Hathaway of Newport. She was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church and had recently moved back to Veedersburg after residing on a farm in Riverside near Attica. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Prairie Creek Church with Rev. Harry Hybarger officiating. Burial was in Centennial Cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. -- kbz
VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. Hattie E. Mitchell, 69, was found dead in her home late Sunday afternoon by her brother, David Clark, who lives in the same neighborhood. She had been in failing health for three years. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was born on a farm south of here Aug. 18, 1887, a daughter of Horton and Anna Hall Clark. In 1919 she married Earl Mitchell, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Clark moved here two months ago from a farm near Riverside. She was one of a family of eight children. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday with Rev. Harry Hybarger officiating. Friends may call at the Fishero Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church an hour preceding the services. Surviving are the brother and a sister, Mrs. Rosella Hathaway of Newport. --typed by Walt W
