VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) —Forrest I. Mitchell, 69, a native of Veedersburg, died yesterday (Feb. 27, 1969) at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fla. Death was unexpected following a stroke sustained at his trailer home the evening before. Born Oct. 18, 1899, in Veedersburg, he was the son of Orville and Florence Stonebraker Mitchell. He attended Veedersburg schools and was married Sept. 30, 1918, to Helen Keeling, who survives. They had been spending the winter months in Florida. Mr. Mitchell was operator of the Mitchell Construction Co. in Veedersburg and owned the Sterling Motel. He was a director of farm management, a 50-year member of the Charles Forrest American Legion Post and was a veteran of World War I. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Doris Olson of Veedersburg; two sons, Doral and Richard, both of Veedersburg; two brothers, Russell and Earl, both of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The Rev. Ivan Steed will officiate. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted. The body is being returned to the Parham Funeral Home. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Saturday. --typed by Walt W

Mr. Mitchell was born in Veedersburg on Oct. 18, 1899, the son of Orval and Florence Stonebraker Mitchell. He attended Veedersburg schools and was married Sept 30, 1918 to Helen Keeling, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs, Doral Olson; two sons, Doral and Richard; two brothers Russell and Earl; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Veedersburg.
Mr. Mitchell operated the Mitchell Construction Company in Veedersburg, was owner of the Sterling Motel, and directed his farming operations. He was a 50-year member of the Charles Forrest American Legion Post No. 288 and a veteran of World war I.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 pm, at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Ivan Steed officiating. Burial was in Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg, where military graveside rites were conducted. - jz
