Floyd E. Mitchell, age 53 of Cates died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday in Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been a patient a week. He had been ill two weeks with heart ailment. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Snoddy Church near Cates with interment in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Edward McDonald officiated. Mr. Mitchell was born April 13, 1893, near Cates son of Charles A. and Florence Mitchell. He was married July 17, 1914 to Lucy McClain, who survives. He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ressa Newbank, Danville; and Mrs. Inez Towell, Cates; four son, Louis and Charles at home; Raymond of Cates and Russell, Earl Park, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Rennick of Cates and Mrs. Grace Allen, Indianapolis; two brothers, Sewell of Yeddo and Doyne of California. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge.
