Veedersburg - Elmer S. Mitchell, 83, Rt 3, died in his home at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday. He retired from RR Donnelley & Sons in 1967 and attended the Community Bible Baptist Church at Veedersburg.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Dickerson Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. David Frazeur officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Friday. The family requests that memorials in the form of contributions be made to the Community Bible Baptist Church, Rt 3, Veedersburg. - kbz

Veedersburg - Elmer S. Mitchell, 83, Rt 3, died in his home at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday. He retired from RR Donnelley & Sons in 1967 and attended the Community Bible Baptist Church at Veedersburg.
Mr. Mitchell was born at Kingman on Aug 14, 1902, a son of President Alexander and Margaret Ross Mitchell. He was married at Danville, Ill Oct 27, 1923 to Fay Keller. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen Newman of Rt 3, Veedersburg and Ruth Ocheltree of Wheaton, Ill; a stepson, Archie Krout of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Eula Haslem of Crawfordsville and Amaza Zimmerman of Sturgis, Mich; a half brother, Robert Miller of Valparaiso; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A son, Rev. M. Richard Mitchell is deceased.
