Mrs. Lowell Minnick, 22, residing on the old Morgan farm just east of Stone Bluff, drank a quantity of carbolic acid about 10 o’clock Monday and died about 12:30 without regaining consciousness. In a note left by Mrs. Minnick she said no one was to blame for her rash act but that she was so nervous she could not stand it. Mr. Minnick went to Stone Bluff on business Monday morning. After he left home Mrs. Minnick sent their two-year-old son to the home of Mr. Minnick’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Minnick and then swallowed the acid. When Mr. Minnick returned home he found his wife unconscious. Dr. CB McCord of Veedersburg was called but he was unable to save her life. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bantz, formerly of Veedersburg and now residing in the vicinity of Cooper Chapel and niece of Charles and Ollie Bantz of this city. Funeral services for Mrs. Minnick was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at Osborn Prairie church, the Rev. SM Dawson in charge. Burial was made in the Osborn Prairie cemetery. - kbz
