MILLS, Ora Vern - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Ora Vern "O.V." Mills, 74, died Friday in the West 10th Street VA Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Dec 17, 1895, in Illinois, he was the son of Daniel and Martha Gilgore Mills. He married Kitty Nichols in 1924. He was a telegraph operator more than 46 years and retired in 1962. Mr. Mills was a noted coin authority. He was a member of Cloverlead F&AM Lodge of Herrick, Illinois. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Clawson of Danville, Ill; and Mrs. Shirley SUrface of New Market; two sons, Wayne L. of Terre Haute and Paul Edward of Crawfordsville; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Wendall, a brother and two sisters.  -- kbz
