ATTICA — Robert F. Milligan, 82, 93 N. Milligan Hill Road, Attica, died at 6:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born March 21, 1917 in Warren County, the son of Orrie and Esta Elizabeth Judy Milligan. He married Betty R. Lyon Dec. 23, 1944 in Attica. She preceded in death Jan. 22, 1993. He lived in Warren County all his life, residing in the home where he was born. He graduated from Attica High School in 1935. He had farmed all of his life in Warren, Liberty and Jordan Townships in Warren County. He was a member of the Warren County Rural Electric (REMC) from 1957-1994, where he served as president from 1973-1993. He was selected to the board of directors of the state organization, serving as secretary, vice president and president of the Indiana Statewide Association of REMC's from 1985-1989. He served on Community Hospital (now St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital) Board of Directors for over 25 years. He was a director of the Production Credit Association in Lafayette from 1964-1985, serving as chairman of the board for the last seven years. He was presented the Sagamore of the Wabash in 1991 by former Governor Evan Bayh. Survivors include: a daughter, Elizabeth (John) Rader, Williamsport; a son, Steven (Karen) Milligan, Williamsport; two sisters, Virginia Geeding, Attica, Marjorie Harden Kuhns, Kokomo; and four grandchildren, Jeff and Katy Rader, Robert W. and Patrick Milligan. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy and his parents. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation, 31 N. Monroe St., Williamsport, Ind. 47993. – jlr
