Mrs. Rose B. Miller, 87 a former resident of the vicinity of Hillsboro died Saturday morning at the home of a niece, Mrs. George McNulty of near New Ross where she had resided for the past 13 months. She was born in the Ingersoll neighborhood southeast of Hillsboro Oct 20, 1870 the daughter of Joseph I. and Louise Parker Brown. In 1901 she was married to Samuel Homer Miller who died in 1921. She was a teacher in rural schools for 19 years having attended Danville Normal College and Blaker’s Teacher College in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors are two sons, Dwight D. Miller of Watertown S Dak and Russell O. Miller of Crane who had just returned from 13 months in Japan; and a daughter, Mrs. James Cowie of Tuckshoe, NY; 7 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Charles Wendall of Hillsboro was a great nephew. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with Rev. John DeKruyter pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church of Crawfordsville officiating and burial was in the Darlington Greenlawn Cemetery. – kbz
