Mishawaka – Mary “Joanne” Miller, 82, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday March 18, 2014 at Morning Crest Nursing Home, South Bend. Joanne was born on Aug 23, 1931 in Danville, Ill to the late Earl R. and Mary “Hazel” (Duncan) Bilsland. On June 6, 1953 in Union City IN she was united in marriage to Bryce W. Miller, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1999. Joanne cherished her life as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon E. Rakowski of South Bend and Sharon’s children, Tyler and Coll Rakowski; three sons, Darryl W. (Patti) Miller of River Falls WI and Darryl’s children, Andrew and Traci Jo Miller; R. David (Lisa) Miller of Sullivan, IL and David’s children, Patrick, Bryce and Allison Miller; and Stephen W (Marilyn)  Miller of Lakeville and Stephen’s children, Hillary (Jeremy) Wright, Victoria Bandy, Katie (Ray) Duran and Daniel Miller. Joanne is also survived by four great grandchildren, Aidan, Madalyn, Kainene and Camden; and two brothers, James (Diane) Bilsland of Greenwood, IN and Robert (Dorren) Bilsland of Carmel, IN.  She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Joanne Miller and Lori Ann Miller. Memorial services for Joanne will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday March 21 at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend where friends may friends may gather with the family one hour prior to services. Rev. State Cox will officiate. Family graveside services will take place at 1:00 pm. Saturday March 22 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington IN with Rev. Andy Martin officiating.
