COVINGTON – Funeral services for Irwin L. Millard, age 73, board chairman of Industrial Gloves of Danville, Ill., and a former resident of Covington, died early Saturday morning, March 1, at his home at Pompano Beach, Fla., after a long illness, were held Monday afternoon at the Kramer Sample Road Funeral Home at Boca Raton, Fla. Cremation followed. A memorial service will be held in Danville, Ill., at a later date. Mr. Millard was born Nov. 24, 1896, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of George and Grace Beatty Millard. He started work with Industrial Gloves in 1921 while the firm’s factory was in Chicago. In 1929, Mr. Millard came to Danville when the factory was moved there. He rose to the company’s presidency, a position he held until becoming chairman of the board in 1947 and he was chairman until his death. He was married to Margaret Jordan in Chicago on Nov. 10, 1921, and she preceded him in death in 1956. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Greenshields, whom he married Jan. 5, 1958 in Pompano Beach; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth R. (Sarah) Bentley of Danville, Ill.; one step-son, John G. Faulman of Boca Raton; two sisters, Mrs. Willard I. Webb Jr., of Toledo and Mrs. Newell Havlings of Sarasota, Fla., and two Grandchildren. – jlr
