PINE VILLAGE — Robert E. Miles,
76, rural Pine village, died at 8:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 in St.
Elizabeth Regional Health, Lafayette. He was born May 25, 1931 in Warren
County, the son of Cecil and Mary (Johnson) Miles. He was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport
High School. He was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He was a lifelong
farmer and owned several businesses. In 1964 he opened Miles & Benson Farm
Service in Pine Village. He was the sole owner of Pine Village Service Center
from 1975-1995. He continued farming and with the Pine Village Service Center
until 2006 with his son, Mitch. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors and
playing cards. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include: two daughters, Gail (Alan) Anderson, Pine Village and Kim
(Jim) Markley, Attica; two sons, Mitch (Marilyn) Miles, Pine Village and Jim
(Vickie) Miles, Missouri City, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Davis, Attica,
Lois Mielke, Danville, Ill., and Helen Davis, Peoria, Ill.; a brother, Don
(companion B. J.) Miles, Williamsport; 12 grandchildren, Cassie Anderson,
Brooke Anderson, Shannon (Travis), T.J. (Kendra) Flynn, Megan (Dan) Duchemin,
Adam Miles, Andrea (Jeff) Tullos, Abbi Miles, Zach Markley, Caleb Markley, Eli
Markley, and Josie Markley; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his parents; a sister, Alice Massing; and a brother, Bill Miles.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Sunday in Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport,
with Pastor Mike Link officiating and Mitch Miles and Cassie Anderson
celebrating Robert's life. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.
