ATTICA, Ind. — Emma Harriet Miles, 83, of 300 Cedar, Attica, who had resided since April at Covington Manor Nursing Center, died at 1:37 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 1, 1979) at Lakeview Medical Center in Danville, Ill. Mrs. Miles, who had managed industrial, school, department store and university cafeterias, was born at Rob Roy, Ind., April 9, 1896, to Henry and Bertha Potter Clawson. A life resident of Fountain County, she was reared in the Newtown area and also lived at West Lafayette for several years. She was a graduate of Newtown High School. Mrs. Miles had been manager of cafeterias at Harrison Steel Castings Co. at Attica, the Attica School system, at Loeb's department store in Lafayette and at Purdue University. She was a member of Newtown Presbyterian Church, West Lafayette Chapter 507 Order of the Eastern Star, Bethel Ladies Aid Society and Bethel Community Circle. Surviving are three sons, Vincent of Wingate, Ind., Howard of Columbus, Ind., and Jerold of Rathdrum, Idaho; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son and a sister preceded her in death. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Maus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Burris officiating. Burial will be at Newtown Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral Home, with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m. --typed by Walt W
