METZGER, Grace Lacey - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Grace L. Metzger a life resident of the Covington area died at 5 p.m. Thursday Nov 21 at her home at 615 W Fourth St. She had been in ill health some time but death was unexpected. Born Jan 10, 1879 in Highland Township, Vermillion County Ind, she was the daughter of Elisha A. and Martha E. Wright Lacey. Her husband, Joe Metzger preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Dr. Elisha Metzger of Perrysville Rt on the staff at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Danville and a nice and nephew, Mrs. Helen Kellogg and Kenneth Myers both of Indianapolis.  Mrs. Metzger was active in the church and community affairs and was a member of the Covington Book Lovers and the Covington Woman’s Club. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the residence with burial in Lower Mound Cemetery. Bodine & Shelby Funeral directors were in charge. – kbz
