METTEE, Harold - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Harold Mettee, 69, of Veedersburg Route 4, died 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 1978, at his home. He had been ill several months.

  Mettee was self-employed in the trucking and construction business.

  He was a member of the Community Bible Baptist Church.

  Born Sept. 23, 1909, in Fountain County, he was the son of Samuel and Leona Stader Mettee. He married Betty Souder on July 26, 1944, in Lafayette. She survives.

  Other survivors include two daughters, Kathaleen of Crown Point and Rebecca at home; a brother, Raymond Mettee of Hillsboro; five sisters, Mrs. Inez Shirley of Veedersburg, Mrs. Vivian Hankins of rural Veedersburg, Mrs. Lois Richardson of Kingman, Mrs. Esther Biddle of Covington and Mrs. Catherine Wedegardener of Perrysville.

  Funeral services were Tuesday at the Community Bible Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Handlen officiated with burial in Union Cemetery. - S
