ATTICA, Ind.—Gordon Mettee, 67, of 910 S. McDonald, Attica, died at 3:30 a.m. today (Dec. 1, 1969) at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient since Nov. 21. He had been ill since Nov. 21. Born in Mellott on Feb. 24, 1902, he was the son of Samual and Leona Strader Mettee. He had lived most of his life in Fountain County and in Attica since 1921. He was married to Nellie I. Dotson in Cayuga, in 1922. She preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 1940. On May 29, 1948, he was married in Attica to Zeda Mae DeSutter who survives. He was semi-retired and had been a foreman in the foundry at Harrison Steel Castings Co., where he was employed for 45 years. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Doris S. McIntosh of Covington and Mrs. Frances Gephart of Audobon; one step-son, Charles DeSutter of Attica; his mother, Mrs. Leona Mettee of Veedersburg; two brothers, Raymond of Wauchula, Fla., and Harold of Veedersburg. Also five sisters, Mrs. Ester Biddle of Wauchula, Fla., Mrs. Inez Shirley and Mrs. Vivian Hankins of Veedersburg, Mrs. Catherine Allen of Perrysville and Mrs. Lois Richardson of Covington, and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. in the DeSutter Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Remaklus officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday. --typed by Walt W
