Greenfield - Phynus Merryman, 92, 5430 W US 40, Greenfield, died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday Nov 18, 1998 in Community Hospital East, Indianapolis. Born Dec 19, 1905 in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Albert and Vada Harper Smith. She married Paul C. Merryman in Sept 1925. He preceded her in death Oct 21, 1998. She attended Veedersburg schools. She was a resident of Covington most of her life and moved to Indianapolis in 1986. The Merrymans owned and operated the Lyric Theater in Covington for many years. Survivors include son Richard Eugene Merryman, Indianapolis and grandson Allan Merryman. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington with Rev. Allen Phillips officiating.
