COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. LaVone M. Merryman, 71, a resident of Covington since 1934 and a former resident of Danville, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday (May 9, 1971) at the Carle Memorial Hospital in Urbana. She had been a patient two weeks and had been ill for two years. Born Nov. 2, 1899, in Danville, she was the daughter of Carl and Sophia Jarling Wiese. She was married to Ross Merryman, who died in 1964. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ricketts of Terre Haute, Mrs. Mildred Grubbs of Covington and Mrs. Virginia Tuggle of Vallejo, Calif.; a son, James of Covington; a sister, Mrs. Gussie Stitt of Danville; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hegg Funeral Home. The Rev. Delmar Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the Hegg Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.   -- jlr
