Mrs. Mertie Mellott, 65, resident of Veedersburg the past 20 years, died at her home at 2 o'clock Monday (June 16th) afternoon of a complication of diseases. She had been seriously ill for several weeks. Mrs. Mellott was born in Effingham, Ill May 11, 1876, a daughter of Frederick and Augusta Robke Struck. She married William J. Mellott, Nov 29, 922. She was a member of the Veedersburg United Brethren Church. Surviving are the husband; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Marschke, Chicago and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Landreth, Williamsport, and Mrs. Lottie Dice, Veedersburg. Mrs. Mellott was a niece of Miss Tillie Robke of this city. Friends may pay their respects at the HC Fisher Funeral Home in Veedersburg where the remains will be buried in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport ... --kbz
