MELLINGER, Cloyd Bishop

C. B. Mellinger passed away at the family residence, 404 E. Monroe St, Attica, Saturday night at 10:00, following a long illness.
Cloyd Bishop Mellinger, son of Adam and Elizabeth Maxwell Mellinger was born, May 13, 1886 at Rockfield, Indiana.  He graduated from the Rockfield High School and for many years was motorman on the old Interurban Line from Lafayette to Ft. Wayne.  He was employed at the Grab It Here Store in Danville before coming to Attica, where he was manager of the meat department of the Grab It Here store for many years.  He retired in 1954.  He was married Dec. 20, 1915 at Greentingsville (?), Indiana, to Emma Faye Herr, who survives him.  He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Rockfield.
Other survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Mrs. Janet Koleczek of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. Carol Jean Snider of Attica; four sons, Darrell, of Frankfort; Guy Maxwell of Little Rock, Arkansas, Edward Herr of Veedersburg R. R, 2 and James Franklin of Perrysville.; .16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the DeSutter Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Nealeigh of the Presbyterian Church of Attica officiating.  Funeral services were also held at the Rockfield Presbyterian Church at Rockfield, Ind., Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 with Rev. Cecil Atkinson of Monticello officiating assisted by Rev. James Nealeigh.
Interment was in the Odd Fellow Cemetery at Rockfield. - jz
