Mrs. Martha Ellen Meharry, age 90, a life resident of Covington, died at her home at 720 Pearl St., Friday, Oct. 12. She had been ill six weeks and seriously ill one week. She was born Sept. 9, 1872, northwest of Covington, the daughter of Elizah and Elizabeth Ballah Holycross. She was married in December of 1892 to William Meharry. He died in 1914. Mrs. Meharry was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Ludlow of Covington, and Mrs. Ruth Lewsader of Veedersburg Rt. 2; a granddaughter, Mrs. Martha Selby of Covington; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cynthia Jones of Danville and Mrs. Emma Coonse of Waynetown; several nieces and nephews. A son, four brothers and a sister also preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Edgar Allen officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery with the Hegg Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Vernon Holycross, Clayton Holycross, Lewis Coonse, Robert Jones, Niles Holycross, and John McGilvrey. --typed by Walt W
