MEESE, James W. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

HILLSBORO - James W. Meese, 91, a retired Montgomery and Fountain County farmer, died Wednesday at Decatur Hospital in Decatur. He had been ill for several weeks. He was born Dec. 3, 1877, the son of Silas and Mary Ann James Meese and married Jan. 26, 1909, to Katherine Lorraine McKinney. He attended the Nazarene Church at Hillsboro. Survivors include four sons, Howard of Crawfordsville; Ray of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville; Wilbur of Indianapolis and Lawrence of Montclair, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Hall of Lafayette and Mrs. Mae Hullinger of Decatur; 23 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A son, James, preceded him in death. Services are set for 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with Rev. Bertha Knox officiating. Burial will be in the Stearns Cemetery near Ogdon, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home.   -- jlr
