MEDLEY, Vernabelle Seymour

Clarks Hill—Vernabelle “Vee” Seymour Medley, 71, Clarks Hill, died at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 1989 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.
She was born June 8, 1917 in Monticello, the daughter of Vernia and Iva Inez Reprogle Seymour. She was married Nov. 18, 1933 in Rensselaer to Kenneth Glenn Medley, who preceded her in death in 1973.
She was raised in Kentland and Goodland. She moved to Seattle, Wash. In 1945 and to West Point in 1972. She had lived at Clarks Hill since 1975. She attended barber’s college in Washington and was a barber from 1945 until retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Clarks Hill United Methodist church and Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 523 in Odell. She served two terms as trustee of the degree of Pocahontas, Council 24; was past great Pocahontas of Washington; past noble grand in Rebekah Degree, triumph 291; and past oracle in Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are two brothers, Roy Medley, Brookston, and Robert Medley, Clarks Hill; five sisters, Nellie Hinshaw, Monticello; Mildred Livengood, Bastrop, Texas; Helena Byers, West Point; Emmy Leeman, Logansport, and Pattie Hurst, Cocoa, Fla.; four grandsons, David, Patrick, Jon and William Medley, and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dean, in 1973.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today in Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, Williamsport, with the Rev. Norman Able officiating. Burial will be in Chalmers Cemetery, Chalmers. – thanks to S
