Services were held for a father and his son who were eclectrocuted Saturday, July 28, 1973 when the television antenna they were installing touched 7,200-volt power line. Dead are Kenneth Glen Medley 68, of West Point Route 1, and his son Kenneth Dean, 37, of 916 Shennandoah Drive, Lafayette. Separate services were Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home in Attica. Services for Kenneth Glen Medley at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating. Burial in Chalmers Cemetery at Chalmers. Services for Kenneth Dean Medly at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery at Attica.
John Medley, 12, son of Kenneth Dean Medley, had burns on both hands and is under observation at Home Hospital in Lafayette. Police stated he had apparently tried to release his father. Kenneth Glen Medley was born July 21, 1905 in Tippecanoe County, the son of William R. and Kathryn Cole Medley. He married Vernabelle Seymour Nov. 18 1933 at Rensselaer, who survives. A retired barber he had resided in Seattle, Wash., before returning to West Point a year ago. He was employed by the Seattle Steam Corp., as maintenance foreman from 1946 until he retired in 1962. He was a member of the Seattle Improved Order of Redman of which he was a tribe past chief Electrical Workers of America and Degree of Pochahonnas, Seattle Council. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Iva Medley of West Point Route 1; three brothers Roy of Brookston, Maurice of Brownsville, Tex., and Robert of Clarks Hill Route 1; six sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Lucas of Dayton, Mrs. Nellie Hinshaw of Monticello Route 1, Mrs. Mildred Livengood of Austin, Tex., Mrs. Helena Byers of West Point Route 1, Mrs. Emmy Speicher of Logansport and Mrs. Pat O'Connor of Lafayette, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Kenneth Dean Medley was born Dec. 11, 1935, the son of Kenneth Glen and Vernabelle Seymour Medley. He married Dora Brooks, on July 27, 1968 at Lafayette who survives. He had previously resided at Salem, Williamsport and Seattle., Washington. A graduate of Seattle high school he was employed at Bob Basney Ford Corp. in Lafayette. He was a veteran World War II and was a member of the Seattle Redman Lodge. Other survivors include four, sons, David, Patrick, John and William all at home; a daughter, Penny Sue at Home; a step-son, Fred at home; and a stepdaughter Sherry at home. A daughter preceded him in death. -- jlr
