MEARS, Leona Kennedy

Mrs. Leona Mears, 36 died at 5 o’clock Wednesday evening at her home in Veedersburg. She had been in failing health for three years and seriously ill for the past 12 months. Born at West Lebanon, Ind Jan 15, 1911, she was the daughter of Alexander and Lena Shields Kennedy. She was married to Russell Mears Nov 1, 1933 in Veedersburg. She was a member of the Christian Church at West Lebanon. Surviving are the husband; a daughter Mildred 11; her father, Alexander Kennedy; two brothers, Faye Kennedy of Attica and Wilbur Kennedy of Danville, Ill and five sisters, Mrs. Ruby Booe of Hillsboro, Mrs. Tillie Webb of Veedersburg, Mrs. Juanita Knee of Peoria, Ill and Mrs. Margaret Gore and Miss Evelyn Kennedy both of Danville, Ill. Funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Fishero Funeral home with Rev. William Bushing pastor of the Nazarene Church in charge.
