Mrs. Blanche Ruby MEADOWS, 70, of Crawfordsville RR 3 died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday Sept 14, 1965 at Culver Hospital. She had been seriously ill seven weeks and in the hospital four. She had lived in Montgomery and Fountain counties all her life. Mrs. Meadows was born Aug 31, 1895, in Ripley Twp, to William and Salina Butcher Hatt. She married Basil A. Meadows Dec 4, 1915 at Danville, Ill. She was a member of Snyder’s Chapel Church and attended the Pond Grove School. Survivors include her husband, four sons, Palmer, Paul, Horace and Robert; five daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Newkirk; Mrs. Dorothy Dickerson and Mrs. Ruth Wilkinson; Mrs. Lola Lewellen; and Mrs. Jewell Caldwell; a sister, Mrs. Martha Bell; two brothers, Joe and Albert; 38 grandchildren and 21 greats. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth and two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Leonard and Miss Betty Meadows. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home, Waynetown with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz (please give credit when using anything from this site - greatly appreciated)

Note: Blanche was born to Noah W. and Saline Butcher Palmer  she often went by the name of her stepfather William Hatt as her father died very young and William Hatt raised her

Mrs. Blanche Ruby Meadows, age 70, of Crawfordsville Rt. 3, mother of Horace Meadows of Veedersburg Rt. 1, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville.  She had been seriously ill seven weeks and in the hospital four weeks. .
Mrs. Meadows, who had lived in Montgomery and Fountain counties all her life, was born Aug. 31, 1895, in Ripley Town
ship, Montgomery County, the daughter of William and Salina Butcher Hatt.  She was married Dec. 4, 1915, to Basil A. Meadows, who survives.  She was a member of Snyder's Chapel Church and attended the Pond Grove school.
Surviving, in addition to the husband, are: four sons, Palmer of Linden, Paul of Waveland, Horace of Veedersburg Rt. 1, and Robert of Crawfordsville Rt. 4; five daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Newkirk of Brookston, Mrs. Dorothy Dickerson and Mrs. Ruth Wilkinson, both of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Lois Lewellen of Lafayette Rt. 12 and Mrs. Jewell Caldwell of Carpentersville, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Martha Bell of Alamo; two brothers, Joe of Waynetown and Albert of Ladoga Rt. 1; 38 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth, and two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Leonard and Miss Betty Lou Meadows.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown.  The Rev. John R. Servies will officiate.  Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown.
