Attica—George W. Meador, 68, 1001 E. North St., Attica, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 1989, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill. He had been in ill health since October.
  He was born Jan. 13, 1921 in Lafayette, Tenn., the son of Richard Perkins and Mary Agnes Jones Meador. He was married Nov. 29, 1950 in Attica, to Mary C. Dobbels, who survives.
  He was reared in Scottsville, Ky. and attended school there. He formerly lived in Hartford City before moving to Attica in 1948.
  He was a former supervisor for Townsend Tree service and had worked in the Attica area since 1963. He retired in 1987.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Attica; VFW Post 3318 and Eagles Lodge 2596, both of Attica.
  Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Betty Meador; two sons, Richard and David, and his mother, all of Attica; one sister, Sadie Arnold, Billings Mont., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
  Funeral services were in Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3318. Visitation was 5-9 p.m. Saturday.- thanks to S
