Agnes (Jones) Meador,
101, Attica, died in Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica, on Sunday, April 9,
2000 at 7 p.m. Born in Macon County, Tennessee on August 20, 1898, she was the
daughter of the late Jim and Sarah (Humphrey) Jones. She had lived most of her
life in Scottsville, Kentucky. She later lived for five years in New Castle and
10 years in Indianapolis, before moving to Attica in 1980. Mrs. Meador attended
school in Macon County, Tennessee. She worked as an inspector for the
Washington Manufacturing Company in Scottsville. A member of New Harmony Church
of General Baptist in Indianapolis, she enjoyed quilting. Surviving, are: a
daughter, Sadye B. (William) Arnold of Billings, Mont.; five grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert “Sid
Meador and George Meador; a daughter, Anna Francis Meador; a grandson, Gregory
Rutan; five brothers and four sisters. Visitation on Wednesday at Maus Funeral
Home, Attica. Service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Harmony Church of General
Baptist with Pastors Willie B. Lyles and Donald G. Martin officiating.
Interment in South Mound Cemetery, New Castle. Memorial contributions may be
made to New Harmony Church of General Baptist or Woodland Manor Nursing Center.
