COVINGTON, Ind. —Harold Wayne Meade, 60, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday ( Oct. 3, 1962) at his home on Covington Route 3. He had been ill 14 months. Born April 16, 1902, in Warren County, he was the son of Edward and Nora Langley Meade. He was married June 29, 1927, to LaVerna O. Young, who survives. Mr. Meade had been a life resident of Fountain County and had been a farmer. He also spent much time working on various inventions and held patents on several items. He graduated from Covington High School in 1920 and attended Purdue University. He was a member of the Salem Methodist Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Imelda Virginia Logue of St. Louis, Mo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Helen L. Jones of Stone Bluff, Mrs. Inez Slazas and Mrs. Irene Cates, both of Kingman Rural Route. He was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters and an infant brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale Owens and the Rev. August Stark will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body will be taken to the family residence, northeast of Covington. Friends will be received after noon Friday. The Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home will be in charge. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services. Pallbearers were: Everett Ratcliff, Robert Galloway, Homer Galloway, Lowell Galloway, Mack Fairchild and Orville Kight. Honorary pallbearers were: Nelson Galloway, Charley Trott, Fletcher Coffing, Ira Coffing, Earl Waldron, Noel Ward, Silas E. McVey, H. Marquess Osborn and Earl Corey.   --typed by Walt W

Covington - Harold W. Meade, 60, farmer and inventor of Rt 3, Covington died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at his home northeast of here after an illness of 14 months. He was a son of Edward E. and Nora Langley Meade and was born in Warren County April 16, 1902. The first four years of his life were spent in Danville, Ill, the remainder in this county. He was married to Laverna O. Young June 24, 1927. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Imelda Virginia Logue of St. Louis and three sisters, Mrs. Helen L. Jones of Stone Bluff, Mrs. Inez Slazas of Rt 1 Kingman and Mrs. Irene Cates, Rt 2, Kingman. He was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters and an infant brother. Mr. Meade was a 1920 graduate of Covington HS and attended Purdue University. He held patents on a number of inventions in farm machiner and automotive parts. He was a member of Salem Methodist Church near here. The body will be removed from the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home to the famiy residence where friends may call afternoon Friday. It will be taken to Salem Church an hour prior to funeral services that are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Dale Owens & Rev August Stork will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery here.

Funeral services for Harold Wayne Meade, age 60, who died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at his home on Covington Rt., 3, were conducted at 2:00 Saturday afternoon at the Salem Methodist Church, northeast of Covington.  The Rev. Dale Owens and the Rev. August Stork officiated with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
