Harry A. Mayhew, 67, of 1422 North THird Street died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Wabash Railroad hospital in Peru, following a long illness. A native of Fountain County, he was born October 15, 1891, the son of Charles and Melinda (Shanks) Mayhew. He retired 5 years ago as a conductor with the Wabash Railroad. Surviving are his wife, Laura; two daughters, Mrs. EMma Samuels, Logansport, and Mrs. Pauline Miller, Jackson, Mich; two sons, Harry K, Rochester, and George M, Fort Wayne; a brother, Fred, Detroit; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McCloskey-Hamilton Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Ralph McCrory wil lofficiate. Burial in the Davis Cemetery.  -- kbz.
