Robert E. Mattingly, 70 of Danville, Il died at 1:56 a.m. Thursday Dec 1 1992 at USMC Logan Campus after a lengthy illness. He was born Feb 7, 1922 in Attica, a son of Joseph and Maude (Fenters) Mattingly. He married Betty J. Coleman April 18, 1942 in Chicago. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah J (Bruce) Orrick of Midland, Tx; two grandchildren, Patrick S. Rebeck of St. Louis, Mo and Anya M. Rebeck of Dallas, Tx; sister and brother, Dorothy Doughtry of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Wendall Mattingly and Glen A. Mattingly of Attica; one niece and 4 nephews. He worked for Quaker Oats in Danville for 15 years until his retirement. He loved gardening and his roses. He enjoyed outdoor sports and loved his dog, Zippy. Visitation was Sunday at Berhalter Funeral Home. Services on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Joe Bury officiating. Interment at Sunset Memorial. Full Military rites by the America Legion Post 210.
