Attica - Mrs. Wanda Mae McCann Mattern, 56, of Attica died at 2:20 p.m. Friday Dec 6 (1968) at Community Hospital in Williamsport where she had been in a patient since Sept 16. She was a former resident of Covington. Mrs. Mattern was born Jan 23, 1912 in West Union, Ohio the daughter of Edward and Helen Marshall McCann. She moved to Indiana as a small girl. She was married on Oct 19, 1932 in Butler PA to George Mattern who died Dec 26, 1967. She had resided in Attica all her married life. Her husband was in the electrical plumbing and heating business in Attica. She graduated from Covington HS in 1930. She was a member of the Attica Chapter Order of Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters Temple 439. Surviving are one son, Garry of Ligonier, PA; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Keller of Covington and Mrs. Dorothy Allen of Mellott and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Harold Bachert officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
