Arthur Adolph Masterson, 64, Pine Village, was dead on arrival at Community Hospital, Williamsport, at 7:37 p.m. Friday, Aug 8. He had suffered a heart attack at Harrison Hills Country Club. He was born in Springfield, Ohio, June 9, 1922, the son of Adolph and Lillian Belcher Masterson.. He had formerly lived at Frankfort and Lafayette and had been a resident of Route 1, Pine Village, for the past eight years. He had been married July 25, 1950, in Attica, to Mabel Richmond, who preceded him in death Feb. 2, 1976. He was a graduate of Attica High School and Chicago School of Optometry. He was formerly employed in sales at Smith Office Supplies and Deckers, both in Lafayette. He served in the Air Corps during World War II, receiving many decorations including the Medal of Valor. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge 143, both of Lafayette; Eagles Lodge 2596, Moose Lodge 1482 and Harrison Hills Country Club, all of Attica; VFW Post 8596, Oxford; Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are a son, Terry Masterson, Lafayette; a stepson, Dr. Paul E. Hepner, Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Nadine McCarthy, Lafayette; two grandchildren; two nieces, Mrs. James (Iris) Sutton, Attica, and Mrs. Mary Lou Kimbrell, Lafayette. Moose memorial services were held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, at 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services were held in the Maus Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Selections played were "How Great Thou Art", "In The Garden", and "Rock of Ages." Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with military graveside rites by the VFW Post of Oxford. Those who served as pallbearers were Terry Masterson, Paul E. Hepner, Paul E.. Hepner III, Sheldon Nathan, James Sutton and Michael McClure. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the heart fund.
