COVINGTON — Mary Elizabeth Massey, 76, resident most of her life of this community, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at her home, 621 Seventh St. A daughter of John Edward and Emma Olive Ralston Young, she was born Aug. 12, 1891 near Hoopeston, Ill. She married Leland E. Massey on Oct.12, 1915. He died Nov. 2, 1940. Surviving are five children, Dale of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Herbert (Marilee) Anderson of Rt. 2, Veedersburg, Mrs. Vern ( Donna) Nicklas of Rt. 3, Covington, Mrs. Jack (Charline) Allen of Covington and Charles of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in The Netherlands; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Cleve and John Young of Rt. 2, Covington. A son, five brothers and a sister are deceased. Mrs. Massey was a member of the First Church of Christ and its Builders and Willing Workers classes. Tentative funeral arrangements have been made for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of Christ. Rev. Harold Fogle will officiate. Friends may call at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon and evening. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. --typed by Walt W

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 14 at the First Church of Christ, Fifth St. The body lay in state one hour
before the services. The Rev. Harold Fogle, pastor of the church officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home of Covington was in charge of arrangements. - jz
