VEEDERSBURG — Clifford E. Marvin, 52, who operated a service station here on West Second Street, died Tuesday morning at the Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient for the past 12 days. He submitted to surgery Monday. Born April 26, 1902, in Maxton, N.C., Mr. Marvin was the son of Edward and Mary Perigo Marvin. At the age of five years he was brought to Veedersburg when his parents established their residence here. As a youth he attended the Veedersburg schools and was graduated from the Veedersburg High School. For the past 26 years, Mr. Marvin has been engaged in the operation of a service station in Veedersburg. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Boswell. He was never married. Funeral services will be held al 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fishero Funeral Home, Rev. G. C. Archer of Boswell officiating, and burial will be in the Boswell Cemetery.
