COVINGTON - William C. Martin, 54, Rt. 3, Covington, farmer and former school board member, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danvlle, Ill. He was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church, member and former master of the Fountain Lodge 60 F & AM, and former chancellor of Tidal Lodge 36, K of P. He was part-owner of the Maple Corner Restaurant in Veedersburg. He was born in Covington, Oct. 25, 1917, a son of Clifford and Lois Thompson. He was married to Rose Misenheimer on Aug. 10, 1940. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Linda Allenduff of Attica and Mrs. Camilla Mounts of Lafayette; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ted Sims of Indianapolis, Mrs. Herbert Bogart of Covington and Mrs. Robert Hunt of Rt. l, Veedersburg; a brother, Tom Martin of Covington; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the funeral home. - jlr
