MARTIN, Sylvia Crabb - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Sylvia M. Martin, 71, 715 East Parke Street, Rockville, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 22, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute. She was the mother of James S. Martin, general manager of The Fountain County Star.

Mrs. Martin was born in Rockville, December 25, 1909, the daughter of John and Emma Durham Crabb. She married Bernard Martin, who died in 1960. She was a member of the Rockville Baptist Church.  Also surviving are two daughters, Roberta Martin, at home, and Rose M. Larr of Charlotte, North Carolina; two stepsisters, Lola Broady and Leoma Nelson, both of Rockville; a stepbrother, Lora Delp of Rockville; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Barnes Mortuary in Rockville with Rev. James O. Trousdale officiating. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery at Rockville.- thanks to S
