ATTICA — Ruby R. Martin, 79, 5630 N. Grindstone Creek Road, Attica, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2000 in Provena United Samaritan Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. She had been hospitalized for the past three weeks. She was born July 11, 1920 in Indianola, Ill., the daughter of George Henry and Lucy Kelsheimer Tuggle. She married Henry W. Martin June 16, 1946 in Georgetown, Ill., who survives. She had lived in Highland Township, Vermillion County, and for a short time in Homer, Ill. She had resided in rural Attica since July 1984. She formerly worked as a sales clerk in Kresge Department Store, Danville, Ill. She enjoyed flowers and gardening She was a former member of the Danville Seventh Day Adventist Church and had transferred to the Lafayette Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors, besides the husband, include: a son, David Eugene Martin, residing at home; a daughter, Carol Sue (Tom) Gohn, Richmond Hill, Ga.; a granddaughter, Melissa Renee (Tony) Toucheck, Bevercreek, Ohio; three sisters, Imogene (Marvin) Collom, Danville, Ill., Joy Love (Lawrence “Bud”) Johnston, Fithian, Ill., Charity Mae (Richard) Martin, Covington; and a brother, James Robert (Bette) Tuggle, Catlin, Ill. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Tuggle and a sister, Mary Payne. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Danville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Larry Clonch officiating. Burial will be in the V.A. National Cemetery, Danville, Ill. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, and one hour prior to the service at the church. – jlr
