COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Maude Louise Martin, of Covington, died at 4:20 a.m. this morning (Dec. 15, 1969) at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville shortly after admission. Born June 27, 1885, at Newport, Ind., she was the daughter of Frank and Philena Brown Burroughs. She married John E. Whitsman on Nov. 3, 1903, who died June 10, 1929. She married Jacob Martin on Nov. 4, 1936, who also preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1962. Surviving are three stepchildren, Mrs. Beulah Morgan of Indianapolis, Mrs. Ruth Brown of Covington, and Virgil Martin of California; two brothers, Charley Burroughs of Georgetown, Ill., and George Burroughs of Newport; and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She had been a resident of the Covington area since 1917. She attended the Salem United Methodist Church and was a member of the Salem Ladies' Aid. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EST at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert H. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.  --typed by Walt W
