Marie Frances Martin, 86, died 1:50 p.m. Wednesday in Lane House where she had been a resident. Mrs. Martin retired from RR Donnelley & Sons Company in 1973 after 33 years of service. She was a 1932 CHS graduate. Her memberships included First Christian Church; Order of Eastern Star, Athens Chapter 9 and White Shrine, Lafayette. In her youth she was active in Girl Scouts and was the first girl at Crawfordsville to receive the Golden Eaglet, the Girl Scouts' highest honor.
She was born Dec 28, 1913 at Crawfordsville to Omer W and Mable Bushong Glover. She married Freeman R. Martin of Covington April 8, 1945. He died May 1983.
She is survived by a first cousin, Dr. John Bushong.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 1-7 N Grant Ave with Rev. Frank Everett officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church. - kibz
